The Love Workshop: How To Find Love In 2019
Have you broken your new year’s resolutions already? It’s not too late to start again with 2019 resolutions. However, instead of giving yourself unachievable diet and weight loss goals, maybe your resolution this year should focus less on restriction and more on abundance — specifically, the abundance of love. Many people start the year with the goal of finding a relationship but what is the best way to find love in 2019?
How To Find Love In 2019
-
Get rid of the holdbacks
Whether you want to fall in love with being alone or find someone new, it becomes impossible if there are still old flames lingering in the background. The flings, the drunken texters or the late-night visits are unlikely to amount into a relationship. Otherwise, it would have happened already. Whether it’s an ex or a casual meet-up, they simply aren’t giving you what you need, so it’s time to cut the ties.
You don’t have to ‘ghost’ someone to get rid of them. Be polite, explain your situation and why its best that you leave your relationship where it is and that it’s healthier for you both to move on.
-
Decide what you want
Many of us spend too much time altering ourselves to fit the needs of other people. This is the wrong way around. Instead, you should focus on what you want from your life as well as what you need from a relationship.
Instead of trying to conform to someone else or changing yourself, it is time to accept yourself, your body and your mind. This self-acceptance will help you to exude confidence which will be incredibly sexy to those you want to attract.
Talk from the heart and don’t be afraid to be honest about what you want and what you are looking for.
-
But…get rid of the checklist
Everyone should have a few deal-breakers in mind to avoid heartbreak and to find love in 2019. These deal-breakers should be in relation to your values and not physical attributes or personality differences. For example, a deal-breaker could be in relation to the other person’s view on marriage and children. However, just because he isn’t six-foot-tall, or she hasn’t got blonde hair and blue eyes doesn’t mean you won’t be a match.
Get rid of the checklist of what the other person should be like and instead open yourself up to the possibility of meeting someone who you wouldn’t expect to be a fit. They may just surprise you.

Have fun
If you want to find love in 2019, then don’t make it a chore. You really do need to love yourself. It is important to realise that being in a relationship isn’t the be all and end all. Always put yourself first. If you don’t feel like going on a date that night, then don’t. If trawling through dating apps is taking the fun out of dating, then delete the app. Finding love should be fun, and as soon as it isn’t, you should find an alternative way that is exciting and interesting.
It is often worthwhile getting out of your comfort zone to make dating fun. How about a singles-only weekend away or taking up your colleague’s offer to introduce you to their friend? If you want to find love in 2019, then don’t be half-hearted in your approach.
