Hypnotherapy For Depression Harley Street London Skype Online

In this week’s post I discuss tips on how to recognize depression and how to stop it from consuming your life. I have outlined a few tips of how to defeat depression and/or cope with negative thoughts. Written by Hypnotherapist Harley Street, Malminder Gill, 20 July 2015 published online via the Hypnosis in London Blog.

The human mind is incredible, fascinating and mysterious. Our brains continue to amaze us on a daily occurrence. One second you can be completely contained and the next unpredictable. You can be focused at work and all of a sudden you will catch yourself dreaming about a handsome man you met on the streets months ago. You feel joy, love and pain all at once and we don’t even know why?

Wouldn’t it be extraordinary if you and I could control our own thoughts? If you could control any negative self-destructing emotions including depression before it defeated you?

Depression comes in like a hurricane flooding your brain with negative thoughts and emotions. You feel helpless, alone and misunderstood. It makes you want to stay in bed all day and get lost in time.

Many people get “depression” and “sadness” confused. This is a very common misconception. While sadness is a normal human emotion it doesn’t compare to depression. Depression is a disease and needs treatment to recover and get on the road to a more healthy life.

Overcoming and coping with depression won’t be easy. It will be tough but it will be worth it. Depression drains up all of your energy and hope. You have absolutely no drive to pursue your aspirations and dreams. You often forget about your future. It’s time to get your happiness back and with these tips you can start living a more peaceful and fulfilling life and stopping depression dead in its tracks!

1. At all cost avoid isolation

Depression causes you to disconnect from the world and want to stay home curled up in bed. This starts to create a vicious cycle that will never end, unless you let it. When you start noticing depression tendencies taking a toll on you, start hanging out with close friends and family members.

Connection and love is an important human emotion that needs to be met. Talking about your feelings is one of the more crucial steps you can take in overcoming and overpowering depression.

2. Develop a healthy diet and sleep routine

Being able to stabilize your blood sugar can boost your mood tremendously. You can achieve this by eating smaller portioned meals throughout the day instead of fewer larger meals. This also in the long run can increase your energy and mood. Think about this next time you reach for a donut, how about you attempt to have a glass of water and some delicious fresh fruit? You will feel the difference after a few days.

3. Get some sleep

Getting adequate amount of sleep each night is important and helps your brain focus more and gives you a lot more energy. I know this is easier said than done. Try to get into bed the same time each night. Even if that means lying down to read a book or watch your favorite TV show. Get your body on a schedule so you get enough sleep. Your mind will thank you for that later. The more sleep you get the more clear your thoughts will become.

It’s especially important for someone suffering with depression. If you catch yourself sleeping too much, this can only cause you to fall more deep into depression. Getting eight hours of sleep a night is the perfect combination for a healthy day of activities.

4. Stick to a routine

Get back into a routine. Set an alarm, force yourself out of bed, eat a healthy breakfast, and go for a walk in the morning sun. All of these tips can help stop depression before it consumes your life.
