It’s an emotion everyone feels, but jealousy makes us miserable. Here Hypnotherapist and Neuro-linguistic programming coach Malminder Gill shares tips on taming the green-eyed monster…
How To Stop Jealousy
Don’t beat yourself up
Feeling guilty about being jealous or envious will lead to a downward spiral. Instead recognize that jealousy is just a passing feeling.
Re-focus your attention
Instead of focusing your energy and head space on the thing or person that makes you jealous, do something active to progress yourself further in life. Finding a new hobby or doing something you enjoy will put you back at the center of your universe and stop you focusing on what everyone else is doing
Turn jealousy on its head
Being jealous is life’s way of telling you to appreciate yourself and the gifts you have. Make a list about what makes you unique and the things you are good at.
Be your own fan
No one will cheer you along unless you first believe in yourself. Recognize your strengths and learn to talk positively about them, instead of putting yourself down.
