When you love your morning, you love yourself. I’m a believer of the power of the mind. I do not use alarm clocks, as I find them intrusive to the body’s natural sleeping pattern. I talk myself into waking up on time, naturally.
Each night as I drift off to sleep, I repeat to myself, `sleep peacefully, wake up feeling good, refreshed and energised’. This helps me fall asleep quicker, focuses my mind and encourages a self-hypnotic state of relaxation – easing away the stress accumulated through the day.
I allow a few moments to recall my dreams before noting the key points in a dream journal. Dreams are vivid, and can carry information or messages, and are an excellent resource for discovering untapped creativity and potential in us.
I also begin my day with meditation and a mantra: `I love my life, I love this world and I love this universal energy.’ Speaking it aloud brings about a smile from within, which leads perfectly on to a heartfelt rush of gratitude. I mentally capture these good feelings in all their glory and create a snapshot in my mind’s eye. I often remember this snapshot during the course of the day, as it is easily triggered by any number of things – a stranger’s smile, bird songs or the wind flying through the trees.
